Privacy Policy
This policy explains what we collect when you contact us about a roof inspection, why we collect it, who sees it, and how you get it deleted.
The short version. We collect what you give us when you request an inspection, plus standard website analytics. We use it to schedule and deliver your inspection. We do not sell your information, we do not trade it to lead brokers, and we do not add you to marketing lists you did not ask for.
The full detail is below, because the short version is not a substitute for the actual terms.

1. Who we are
Roof Inspection Houston, operated by [LEGAL BUSINESS NAME], provides free residential and commercial roof inspections across Houston and the Greater Houston area. This policy covers the website at roofinspectionhouston.com and the information we handle when you contact us through it, by phone, or by email.
In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Roof Inspection Houston. “You” means anyone visiting the site or contacting us.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us directly
When you submit an inspection request, call us, or email us, you may provide:
- Your name
- Your phone number and email address
- The address, city or ZIP code of the property to be inspected
- Whether the property is residential or commercial
- The type of inspection you need and any details you describe about the roof
- Insurance claim information, if you choose to share it, such as a carrier name or claim number
- Photographs you send us of the property or the damage
- Any other content you include in a message to us
Information collected automatically
When you visit the site, we and our service providers may automatically collect:
- Your IP address and general location, usually to city level
- Browser type, device type, operating system and screen size
- Pages viewed, time on page, and the links you click
- The website or search that referred you to us
- Date and time of your visit
Information we create
When we perform an inspection, we generate records about the property: photographs of the roof and its components, condition assessments, measurements, and the written report itself. These records relate to the property and to your service history with us.
3. How we use your information
| What we use | What we use it for |
|---|---|
| Name, phone, email | Confirming your appointment window, contacting you about scheduling, and delivering your report |
| Property address and details | Routing an inspector to the correct property and preparing for the roof type involved |
| Inspection type and your description | Assigning an inspector with the right equipment and expertise |
| Insurance claim details | Formatting your report for claim submission and coordinating with your adjuster, only if you ask us to |
| Inspection photos and findings | Producing your report and keeping a record of the property’s condition on the date we inspected it |
| Website usage data | Understanding which pages are useful, fixing problems, and measuring whether our advertising works |
We also use information where we need to in order to comply with the law, resolve a dispute, or enforce our agreements.
4. Calls, texts and consent
When you submit a request form and tick the consent box, you agree that we may contact you by phone call, text message and email about that inspection request. This consent is not a condition of any purchase, and the inspection is free whether you consent or not.
Message frequency varies and depends on your request. Message and data rates may apply through your carrier. We do not use automated dialing systems to make marketing calls to numbers submitted through this website, and we do not sell or share your phone number with third party marketers or lead buyers.
How to stop hearing from us
- Text messages: reply STOP to any message and we will stop texting that number
- Phone calls: tell the person you speak with, or call us and ask to be removed
- Email: use the unsubscribe link, or reply asking to be removed
We may still contact you about an inspection that is already scheduled, or to deliver a report you asked for, because those are service messages rather than marketing.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with lead generation companies or data brokers. If you contacted us, you hear from us and not from a queue of contractors who bought your details.
We do share information in these limited situations:
- Service providers. Companies that run our website hosting, email, scheduling, phone service, customer records and analytics. They may only handle your information to perform work for us.
- Your insurance carrier or adjuster. Only when you ask us to support a claim, and only the inspection documentation relevant to it.
- Subcontractors on your job. If work you hire us for requires a specialist, they receive the details needed to perform that work.
- Legal requirements. Where we are required by law, subpoena, court order or government request, or where disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, safety, or the safety of others.
- Business transfer. If the business is sold or merged, customer records may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
6. Cookies and tracking
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. We use:
- Essential cookies that make the site function, such as remembering form state and security features. The site does not work properly without these.
- Analytics cookies that tell us which pages people read and where they leave, in aggregate.
- Advertising cookies that measure whether an ad led to a request, and may allow advertising platforms to show you our ads on other sites.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will break parts of the site. Blocking analytics and advertising cookies will not affect your ability to book an inspection.
7. Analytics and advertising
We use third party tools to understand site traffic and measure advertising. These providers may set their own cookies and receive data about your visit under their own privacy policies:
- Google Analytics for website traffic measurement. You can opt out across all sites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Google Ads for measuring which advertisements lead to inspection requests, and for showing our ads to people who visited the site.
- Meta advertising tools for the same purpose on Facebook and Instagram.
- Call tracking which may record the phone number that called, the number dialed, call duration, and the source that led to the call.
Some phone calls may be recorded or monitored for quality and training. Where a call is recorded, you will be notified at the start of the call and may ask us not to record.
8. How long we keep it
- Inspection requests that never became appointments: generally up to 24 months
- Inspection reports and photographs: generally up to 7 years, because roof condition history and warranty questions come up years later
- Records tied to insurance claims or contracted work: as long as needed for legal, tax and warranty purposes
- Website analytics: according to the retention settings of the analytics provider, typically 14 to 26 months
You can ask us to delete your information sooner. See section 10.
9. How we protect it
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect the information we hold, including encrypted connections on this website, access controls limiting staff access to what their role requires, and vendor agreements with our service providers.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send sensitive information such as financial account numbers or government identification numbers by email or through the request form. We never need those to perform an inspection.
10. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access. Ask what personal information we hold about you.
- Correction. Ask us to fix information that is inaccurate.
- Deletion. Ask us to delete your personal information, subject to records we must keep by law.
- Portability. Ask for a copy of your information in a portable format.
- Opt out. Ask us to stop using your information for targeted advertising, and to stop contacting you.
- Appeal. If we decline a request, ask us to reconsider that decision.
Texas residents
Under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, Texas residents may exercise the rights listed above. We will respond to a verified request within 45 days, and may extend that once by a further 45 days where reasonably necessary, telling you why. If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our response, and we will answer the appeal within 60 days. If the appeal is denied, you may submit a complaint to the Texas Attorney General.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not process personal data for targeted advertising in a way that would require an opt out beyond the advertising cookie controls described in section 6.
Residents of other states
If you live in a state with its own consumer privacy law, such as California, Colorado, Connecticut or Virginia, you may have comparable rights. We apply the same process to all requests regardless of where you live.

Our site links to third party websites, including map services, review platforms and roofing manufacturers. We do not control those sites and this policy does not apply to them. Read their privacy policies before providing information to them.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted on this page for a reasonable period. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised policy.
